Legal_Privacy_Title

Draft notice: this Privacy Policy was drafted as a starting point for JobEase's V1 release (docs/V1_DELIVERY_PLAN.md Phase 8). It is not legal advice and must be reviewed and approved by a qualified legal professional before this application is used with real customers or real payment data.

1. What we collect

  • Account data: name, email, phone number, and address you or your Provider enters for your account.
  • Job and service data: job details, scheduling information, service notes, and before/after photos a Provider records.
  • Invoice and billing data: invoice amounts, status, and (where online payment is enabled) payment metadata from our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Contact requests: information you submit through our public contact form.

2. How we use it

We use this data to operate the service you signed up for: to let a Provider manage their clients, jobs, and invoices, and to let a Client view the parts of that relationship they are entitled to see. We do not sell personal data.

3. Who can see your data

Tenant isolation is enforced server-side: a Provider can only see data for their own tenant, and a Client can only see data tied to an active relationship with a specific Provider. Public profile visibility (where applicable) never grants write access or exposes private data.

4. Third parties

We use SendGrid to deliver transactional email and Stripe to process payments where online payment is enabled. Each provider handles data according to its own privacy policy and our agreements with them.

5. Data location and retention

Data is resident in Canada. We retain account, job, and invoice data for as long as your account is active, plus any additional period required by applicable law or legitimate business need (e.g., dispute resolution).

6. Your choices and rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account through our contact page. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK) or the CCPA (California) — including access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data. Some records may be retained where required by law or legitimate business need even after an account is closed.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your tenant selection. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. [Operator: update this section if analytics or marketing cookies are added later.]

8. International data transfers

Our infrastructure and our third-party processors (SendGrid, Stripe) may process data outside of Canada. Where this occurs, we rely on those providers' own safeguards for cross-border data transfer.

9. Children's privacy

JobEase is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us through the contact page so we can remove it.

10. Security

We apply tenant-scoped authorization to every request, validate file uploads, and avoid storing secrets or payment card data in our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.

12. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request to access, correct, or delete your data, can be sent through our contact page.
